I grew up in upstate New York and lived there with my family until college. I attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor Degree in English. Upon graduating, I spent the summer backpacking through Europe and then moved to Boston with a few friends. I worked in sales for a year and realized that it was not for me. Education is my true passion and I enrolled at Northeastern University in the fall of 2009 to obtain my Master of the Art of Teaching degree. I was placed at Burlington High School in Massachusetts to complete my practicum and felt right at home there. Luckily for me, they had a full-time opening the following year and hired me as a high school English teacher. I completed my Master’s degree and am now in my second year at Burlington. I am fully enjoying extending my knowledge and trying new techniques, as well as exploring technology in the classroom.
